Let it Rain
This hunting season I received an Ameristep hub-style umbrella as a gift and it was none to soon. The week I received this gift I was headed out to hunt for 8 days with the rut in full swing.Of course we all were
hoping for the right weather, but we did have a day and half of rain with some heavy rain. This was the first time I had ever used this umbrella, it was easy to install on the tree above my ladder stand.
There is one thing, the instructions tell you to hold the umbrella and pull in the middle. After several tries by me and my hunting buddies to open the umbrella I finally made a call to Ameristep. Speaking with their service department which was very helpful they gave me a hint that needs to be past on, you need to lay the umbrella flat on the ground and put one foot on a corner and pull the cord.
Once I had done this the umbrella opened right up. I was very impressed on how much coverage this 48” square x 6’ deep umbrella gives. I was able to sit in heavy rains without getting one drop of rain on me or my rifle, also it was very useful in keeping the sun off of me .This umbrella can also be used as a ground blind for deer or turkey hunting. I fully recommend this umbrella, there will now be one on all of my stands.
